TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

Certified Trading Card Association (CTCA)

Thank you for becoming a member of the Certified Trading Card Association ("CTCA"). By applying for and maintaining membership, you agree to the following Terms of Membership. These terms establish expectations while reinforcing the organization's mission of trust, professionalism, and collaboration.

1. Our Mission

The CTCA exists to unite the trading card industry through education, collaboration, advocacy, transparency, and the development of best practices that strengthen confidence throughout the hobby. Membership signifies a commitment to supporting these objectives.

2. Membership Expectations

All members agree to:

  • Conduct themselves honestly, ethically, and professionally.
  • Treat collectors, businesses, and fellow members with respect.
  • Support an environment that encourages collaboration over conflict.
  • Avoid knowingly making false or misleading statements regarding the CTCA or its members.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Follow all CTCA policies, standards, and Code of Conduct.

3. Industry Standards

Members understand that the CTCA may publish:

  • Best Practices
  • Industry Standards
  • Educational Guidance
  • Position Statements
  • Certification Requirements

Members agree to make reasonable efforts to comply with standards applicable to their membership classification.

4. Membership Does Not Constitute Endorsement

Membership does not:

  • Guarantee certification
  • Guarantee endorsement
  • Guarantee business referrals
  • Guarantee participation in committees
  • Guarantee leadership positions

Only members meeting additional requirements may use specific CTCA certifications or designations.

5. Use of CTCA Name & Logos

Members may only use:

  • CTCA logos
  • Membership badges
  • Certification marks
  • Digital assets

These must be used in accordance with CTCA Brand Guidelines. Unauthorized use may result in suspension or termination.

6. Membership Dues

Members agree that:

  • Membership dues are non-refundable.
  • Membership renews annually unless cancelled.
  • Failure to pay dues may result in suspension or termination.
  • Membership benefits cease upon expiration.

7. Confidentiality

Certain CTCA meetings, committees, working groups, and member communications may contain confidential information. Members agree not to disclose confidential information without authorization.

8. Respectful Collaboration

The CTCA encourages healthy discussion. Members agree to:

  • Debate ideas professionally.
  • Avoid harassment.
  • Avoid discrimination.
  • Avoid threats.
  • Avoid intimidation.
  • Avoid personal attacks.

9. Antitrust Compliance

Members acknowledge the CTCA operates in full compliance with federal and state antitrust laws. Members agree not to use CTCA meetings, committees, events, or communications to discuss:

  • Price fixing
  • Boycotts
  • Market allocation
  • Production limitations
  • Other anti-competitive conduct

10. Conflicts of Interest

Members shall disclose material conflicts of interest when participating in committees, working groups, leadership positions, or voting activities.

11. Suspension & Termination

Membership may be suspended or revoked for:

  • Fraud
  • Criminal conduct affecting the hobby
  • Material misrepresentation
  • Repeated violations of CTCA policies
  • Misuse of CTCA intellectual property
  • Conduct detrimental to the reputation of the CTCA
  • Failure to pay membership dues

Termination decisions shall follow the CTCA Ethics & Disciplinary Process.

12. Resignation

Members may resign at any time by written notice. Membership dues are not refundable.

13. Limitation of Liability

The CTCA provides educational resources, industry guidance, and networking opportunities. The CTCA is not responsible for:

  • Business disputes
  • Financial losses
  • Member-to-member transactions
  • Investment decisions
  • Buying or selling decisions
  • Authentication outcomes
  • Grading outcomes

14. Amendments

The CTCA may modify these Terms of Membership as the organization evolves. Members will receive notice of material changes. Continued membership constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

15. Acknowledgement

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Terms of Membership, Code of Conduct, Ethics Policy, Antitrust Policy, Conflict of Interest Policy, and Privacy Policy. I agree to abide by all CTCA policies and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.

Member Certification

I certify that all information provided during the membership application process is true and complete. I understand that providing false, misleading, or omitted information may result in denial, suspension, or immediate termination of membership. I further agree to notify the CTCA of any material changes that could affect my eligibility for membership.
