THE STANDARD BEHIND THE BADGE
The CTCA Certified Breaker Program is built around five principles that support collector confidence and responsible growth across the breaking community.
Certified Breakers clearly communicate break formats, rules, pricing, product information, team or participant allocation, shipping expectations, and other material terms before participation.
Certified Breakers represent products accurately, conduct breaks honestly, protect the integrity of the live-break process, and avoid deceptive or manipulative practices.
Certified Breakers follow defined expectations for communication, card handling, chain of custody, packaging, shipping, fulfillment, dispute resolution, and protection of collector interests.
Certified Breakers promote an informed, respectful, inclusive, and sustainable breaking environment while following responsible marketing and participation practices.
Certified Breakers agree to ongoing standards, credential verification, complaint review, cooperation with appropriate inquiries, continuing education, corrective action, and disciplinary consequences when warranted.
These pillars do not represent a one-time promise. They form the continuing standard every Certified Breaker agrees to uphold.
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
Certification education is designed to strengthen professional conduct, operational consistency, collector protection, and long-term trust.
Applicants must complete the certification assessment after finishing all ten educational modules and achieve the required passing score.
THE COMMITMENT
A CTCA Certified Breaker commits to the following standards:
The complete Code of Conduct defines the responsibilities, prohibited conduct, complaint procedures, and potential disciplinary consequences applicable to Certified Breakers.
A LIMITED LAUNCH OPPORTUNITY
The first generation of CTCA Certified Breakers will help establish a new professional standard for live breaking across the hobby.
Breakers who successfully complete certification during the designated founding period and remain in good standing will receive permanent recognition as members of the program's inaugural cohort.

FOUNDING COHORT RECOGNITION MAY INCLUDE:
Important clarification: Founding Certified Breaker is a launch-cohort distinction. It is not a certification achievement level and does not place a breaker above individuals who later earn advanced credentials.
Founding cohort availability is limited to the official launch period.
CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
Initial certification establishes that a breaker has satisfied the program's foundational requirements. Advanced levels are earned over time through continued compliance, education, operating history, collector service, and professional performance.
Completed the program's foundational identity verification, screening, education, assessment, membership, and Code of Conduct requirements.
Demonstrated an active operating history, successful renewal, continued compliance, and positive professional standing.
Completed expanded education and demonstrated strong operational practices, collector communication, fulfillment, and complaint management.
Demonstrated sustained professional performance, strong collector service, continuing education, documented compliance, and audit readiness.
The program's highest achievement level, recognizing long-term excellence, industry leadership, exemplary compliance, and meaningful contributions to responsible breaking.
Important: Advanced certification levels will only be displayed publicly after CTCA finalizes objective qualification criteria, evaluation procedures, and advancement timelines.
FOR COLLECTORS
Choosing where to participate in a break should be an informed decision. The CTCA Certified Breaker credential gives collectors an additional standard to consider before deciding where to spend their money.
A Certified Breaker has satisfied CTCA's identity verification, required screening, education, assessment, membership, and Code of Conduct requirements and must maintain ongoing good standing.
UNDERSTAND THE CREDENTIAL
When you see an active CTCA Certified Breaker badge, it means the individual has:
Important consumer notice: CTCA certification confirms that an individual has satisfied the Certified Breaker Program requirements and remains in good standing as of the credential-verification date. Certification is not an endorsement of any specific break, product, transaction, platform, or commercial claim. It does not guarantee future conduct, financial outcomes, card values, product contents, delivery, or transaction performance.
CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY
Look for the CTCA Certified Breaker badge on the breaker's profile, website, livestream, listing, or promotional materials.
Click or scan the badge whenever possible. An authentic digital credential should connect to an official verification record.
Confirm that the name, credential information, certification level, and status match the individual conducting the break.
A screenshot or copied image of a badge does not independently confirm active certification. Always verify the credential through the official CTCA system.
FIND A CERTIFIED BREAKER
Search for Certified Breakers by individual name, business name, platform, location, certification level, or credential status.
The Certified Breaker Directory is coming soon.
Only individuals with an active certification will be presented as current CTCA Certified Breakers. Historical or inactive credential records may remain visible when necessary for verification and public clarity.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Collectors and industry participants may submit documented concerns involving a CTCA Certified Breaker through the official reporting process. CTCA records and reviews submitted information according to program policies. Submission of a report does not automatically establish wrongdoing or guarantee that an investigation or disciplinary action will occur.
THE REVIEW PROCESS MAY INCLUDE:
POTENTIAL OUTCOMES MAY INCLUDE:
Emergency notice: CTCA is not a law-enforcement agency, emergency service, court, financial institution, or substitute for a marketplace's customer-support process. Suspected criminal activity should be reported to the appropriate authorities. Transaction disputes should also be submitted through the platform or payment provider involved.
FOR PLATFORMS AND INDUSTRY ORGANIZATIONS
The CTCA Certified Breaker Program provides independent infrastructure for verification, screening, education, assessment, credentialing, and continuing accountability.
Marketplaces, livestreaming platforms, hobby businesses, manufacturers, service providers, and other industry organizations can explore ways to recognize or support the credential within their communities.
POTENTIAL COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES
CTCA certification is designed to complement platform policies—not replace them. Each platform remains responsible for its own eligibility standards, policies, enforcement procedures, transaction protections, and user relationships.
TRUST REQUIRES CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITY
Certified Breakers must maintain continued compliance with program requirements to keep their credentials active.
THE ACCOUNTABILITY FRAMEWORK MAY INCLUDE:
The goal of accountability is to protect the credibility of the credential, promote appropriate corrective action, and address serious noncompliance fairly and consistently.
