No Unified Voice

An Industry Speaking in Fragments

The trading card industry is one of the fastest-growing collectibles markets in the world—yet it lacks one critical element:

A unified voice.

Today, retailers, breakers, distributors, and platforms all operate independently, often with competing interests and no central representation.

There is no single organization speaking on behalf of the hobby as a whole.

THE PROBLEM

Without a unified voice, the industry faces ongoing challenges:

- No Collective Representation

Businesses have limited influence on decisions that impact the hobby

- Inconsistent Standards

No agreed-upon framework across the industry

- Fragmented Communication

Important issues are addressed in isolation rather than collaboratively

- Limited Advocacy

No central body advocating for fairness, transparency, or accountability

- Missed Opportunities

Growth, innovation, and collaboration are slowed

Each segment of the hobby is left to navigate challenges on its own.

THE IMPACT

The absence of a unified voice creates instability across the ecosystem:

- Businesses struggle to influence industry direction
- Collectors receive inconsistent experiences
- Trust varies widely depending on who you interact with
- Long-term growth becomes harder to sustain

An industry without alignment cannot operate at its full potential.

CTCA’S POSITION

The Certified Trading Card Association believes:

- The industry must come together—not operate in silos
- A unified voice is essential for long-term growth
- Collaboration strengthens the entire ecosystem

Without alignment, progress is limited. With alignment, the industry can evolve.

WHAT NEEDS TO CHANGE

To move forward, the industry must shift toward:

- Collaboration Over Fragmentation
Bringing together retailers, breakers, and businesses

- Shared Standards & Expectations
Creating consistency across the hobby

- Central Representation
A collective voice that represents the industry

- Open Communication
Addressing challenges together—not separately

HOW CTCA IS HELPING

CTCA is building a unified foundation for the industry by:

- Bringing businesses together under a shared mission
-Providing a collective voice for the hobby
- Encouraging collaboration across all segments
- Supporting the development of industry-wide standards

We are creating alignment where none previously existed.

WHY IT MATTERS

The future of the trading card industry depends on unity.

Without a unified voice, the industry will remain fragmented.

With one, it can become stronger, more trusted, and more sustainable.

The industry doesn’t need more noise—
it needs a voice.
